Relay for Life May 14-15 The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life is scheduled for May 14-15 at the Bonaire Middle School. We are only having one team this year. Many of us have already signed up. But there is plenty of room left. If you are interested in being on the team, there is a $10 registration fee. (The deadline was Feb 23rd, but we will work something out) You can send a check to me (Caryl Deems, 1591 Highway 42, Byron, GA 31008) made out to the Cancer Society or bring it to our next meeting. The more runners we have, the more we can divide up those laps!
Trash Pickup/Run On Saturday, Feb 27th, the Pacers will be picking up trash along our assigned section of Russell Parkway. We will start from the Shilla Restaurant (formally Richard's) at 604 Russell Parkway at 8 am and proceed westward. To stimulate interest in this community service project, there will be a group run prior to the trash pickup. Marv Champion has charted a 6-mile course beginning and ending at the Shilla. The run will begin at 7 am sharp to ensure we get back in time to start the trash pickup. (Map on back) Cooper River Run Charleston, SC March 27th Many of us have already made plans to participate in the Cooper River 10K to be held March 27th in Charleston. This is guaranteed to be one of those races you will never forget. (Over 10,000 runners expected) If you would like information, please call Caryl in Byron at 912-956-2534.

| Next Pacer Meeting Tuesday, March 2nd at 7:00 pm Houston Health Pavilion We plan to elect officers at the next club meeting. We also hope to have a report on the results of the Museum of Aviation Races held Feb 6th. Marv Champion went to China last Fall to provide non-medical support to a volunteer team performing cataract surgeries. After the business meeting and election of officers, he will tell the club about his experiences as well as show videotape and some of the mementos he brought back. |
